Applications for the 2019 grant cycle of the Greene County Community Foundation are now available, said Tom Wind, president of the Foundation board.
The board expects to have close to the same amount of funds available for distribution this year as last. Grow Greene County, which provides funds to the Community Foundation, has provided reassurance that the large financial commitment to the Greene County Schools for the new gymnasium will not significantly impact the Community Foundation.
In the past 13 years the Community Foundation has awarded grants totaling $1,356,000 to non-profit organizations and governmental entities.
The pilot last year of a short application form for grants of $3,000 or less was successful, and applicants will once again have that option. Organizations applying for more than $3,000 will complete a longer form that includes more detailed information about the proposed project.
Both grant application forms are now available online at www.forgreenecounty.org. Completed applications are due at the Journey Financial office at Home State Bank by Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at 4 pm. Applications may also be emailed to greeneccf@gmail.com by the Feb. 14 deadline.
Like last year, the Foundation will accept grant applications of up to $35,000. Grant applications for more than $35,000 should be directed to Grow Greene County.
Greene County Community Foundation board members will review and score the applications Feb. 23. Grants will be awarded and available in mid-March.
